Sorghum Extract Powder

Sorghum has many names: milo in West Africa, Guinea corn, kafir corn in South Africa, dura in Sudan, mtama in East Africa, jowar in India, and kaoliang in China. Sorghum is an ancient grain that was gathered 8,000 years ago in southern Egypt at a place called Nabta Playa. Sorghum was domesticated in Ethiopia and Sudan, and from there spread throughout Africa, where it remains an important cereal.

Sorghum red natural pigment has excellent heat resistance and is the best substitute for caramel pigment.

Application

The aqueous solution is reddish brown, lighter in an acidic environment, and darker in an alkaline environment. Heat-resistant and light-stable. Bright color and good color adhesion. If a small amount of sodium pyrophosphate is added, the influence of metal ions can be suppressed. Easily soluble in water and alcohol solutions, but insoluble in oil.
