Marigold Extract Powder
Lutein is extracted from marigold flowers. Lutein is a type of xanthophyll and one of the naturally occurring carotenoids. Lutein usually coexists with its isomer zeaxanthin, and it can be interconverted in the body. Lutein is only synthesized by plants. Humans and mammals must obtain lutein from food.
Natural lutein is an excellent antioxidant, which can resist cell and organ damage caused by free radicals in the human body, so as to prevent cardiovascular sclerosis, coronary heart disease and tumor disease caused by aging of the body.

Application
Natural lutein contained in plants is an excellent antioxidant. Adding a certain amount of lutein to food can prevent cell senescence and body organ senescence, as well as prevent vision loss and blindness caused by age-related ocular macular degeneration. Through a series of medical studies, carotenoids have been recommended as cancer prevention agents and life prolonging agents. Ulcer preventions, heart attacks and coronary artery disease preventions. At the same time, lutein can also be used as a feed additive for the coloring of poultry meat and eggs, and has also been used as a coloring and nutritional health agent in the food industry.
Lutein is primarily used as a coloring agent in foods and supplements because of its yellow-red color. It appears yellow at low concentrations and orange-red at high concentrations. Lutein is not only a natural colorant, but also an excellent supplement material.
The main pigment components of the retina:
- Protect the eyes from light damage, delay the aging of the eyes and prevent lesions: the ultraviolet and blue light in the sun will produce a large number of free radicals into the eyes, leading to cataracts, macular degeneration, and even cancer
- Improve macular pigment density, protect macular, promote macular development;
- Prevent macular degeneration and retinitis pigmentosa;
- Reduce the production of glass film warts, prevent the occurrence of AMD
Origin
Marigolds have been grown in Yunnan province of China producing 25 tons of fresh flowers per acre, with the concentration of Lutein at 17-21g/1000g (Lutein/fresh flower).
